CTC Inc. (Conserve Thru Control, Inc.) was established in 1978 and incorporated in 1980 by Robert Pitoniak. Robert began his career working in the boiler room of the USS Goodrich for the United States Navy. After an honorable discharge, upon his return to Adams, Massachusetts, he started working with Honeywell. In 1978, he ventured out on his own compiling a variety of clientele including GE, Crane & Company, Steinerfilm, and many schools in Massachusetts and Vermont. 

In 1987, Robert's son Matthew Pitoniak graduated from the University of Massachusetts, Amherst, with a business degree from the Isenberg School of Management. In 1994, Matthew purchased 100% ownership from his father. In 2005 he relocated the business to Mass MoCA in North Adams, MA due to expansion and growth. In 2012, the company relocated again to a new and privately owned office building in the Adams Corporate Park.  Construction of the new building began in March 2011 and commenced on April 2012.
